The most important years of a child’s growth are the first
six years when “unconscious learning is gradually brought
to the conscious level" The first six years are the formative
years of life. It is during this time that the child becomes
fully a member of a particular culture and family group,
absorbing language, attitudes, manners and values. Therefore
it is very crucial that the teacher is specially trained
to guide the children of this age group.
